PARTNERSHIP POSSIBILITIES
A Letter from Paul W. Oberg, CEO
During the past three years, the Foundation has made
matching partnership grants to individual schools and organizations to develop
curricula, conduct environmental education festivals and improve local
facilities to support outdoor environmental learning centers.
The dramatic reduction in Foundation income as the
result of current economic conditions has made it necessary to discontinue the
partnership matching grant program, and we will not entertain requests for such
grants. Until the level of
Foundation income improves, the Jeffers Board has determined that the
development of “in house” projects to share environmental education teaching
methods with schools and other organizations throughout the State will result in
our ability to best share our limited resources with more educators.
If your organization would like to participate in the development and field-testing of curricula as a part of our “in house” projects, or if you would like to make a suggestion concerning possible projects, we encourage you to contact the Foundation or one of our directors with your suggestions. Also, if you would like to share in the experiences of prior beneficiaries of grants with respect to a specific project you would like to develop, please feel free to contact a Foundation board member or one of the specified contacts named on the Partners page. We will attempt to make it possible for you to compare notes with the experiences of former grantees to assist you in developing your programs.
